The World Halal Week 2016 is pivotal in steering the growth of the halal industry as we seek to expand market outreach for halal products and services, while at the same time discuss and resolve global issues impacting the industry. As part of the Government’s National Halal Agenda, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) will once again patron the World Halal Week (WHW) 2016 which will be held from the 28th March until the 2nd of April 2016.
During the week, global halal stakeholders will once again participate in three (3) iconic halal events:-
The events to be held during the WHW 2016 are fully supported by the Malaysian Government and the agencies under MITI. The theme “Beyond The Economy” – reflects upon the extensive realm of the halal eco-system capable of delivering impactful socio economic enhancement while preserving halal integrity and assuring sustainability of the supply chain.
On a single platform Governments, business leaders, scholars and entrepreneurs will actively engage to deliberate on wide ranging issues surrounding the global Halal industry and charting the way forward. Halal producers and suppliers will also network extensively towards securing business deals while Halal Certifiers shall share views and exchange ideas to improve technicalities and conformities to best practices in relation to Halal certification and Halal Standards.
Since its rebranding as the World Halal Week (WHW) in 2013, the event has earned its reputation as a much anticipated international halal event. Over the years, business leaders, halal industry players, entrepreneurs, scholars and stakeholders from all over the world converged to Kuala Lumpur to participate in halal related events in Malaysia during the week. Besides facilitating trade in halal products and services, this event has also in the past, provided the ideal platform for intellectual discourse on issues pivotal to the growth of the global halal industry and more importantly, inspired wealth creation through new research findings and innovative creations in halal.
